Dense, rounded shrub with flat-topped clusters of crimson blooms in mid-summer. New bronze-gold to red foliage matures to soft yellow, then orange-red in fall. Tolerates heat, pollution, erosion and a variety of well-drained soils. Contrast, foundation, and mass plantings.

Care

General Maintenance: Prune annually and remove root suckers to control size and spread.
Light: Full sun
Watering: Water deeply and regularly during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Once established, reduce frequency.
Soil: Provide well-drained, enriched soil. It prefers to grow in average to moist conditions, and shouldn't be allowed to dry out. It is not particular as to soil type or pH.
Fertilizer: Feed in early spring with an all purpose fertilizer prior to the new growth.
