Care

General Maintenance: Can be repotted once a year, preferably around spring, when new roots start to emerge. Roots will grow higher on the plant each year. Simply cover the base of your plant with moss or peat and new roots will emerge. If you are repotting your plant you can cut the roots down so your plant remains level in your pot. This plant can be propagated by division when repotting.

Temperature: Prefers temperatures of 25°C - 32°C during the day, and will tolerate temperatures as low as 21°C at night.

Light: Anthuriums will take as much light as you can give, as long as it is not direct. It will live ideally about 5-8 feet from a large window. Direct light can cause leaf scorching.

Watering: Requires consistently moist soil, do not let dry out between watering.

Soil: Prefers a well-draining, organic, and well-aerated soil. Perlite and/or orchid bark can be added to potting mix to promote drainage and aeration.

Fertilizer: Fertilization should not be required. If you do fertilize, use a slow release fertilizer or a diluted liquid feed approximately every second time you water your plant during the growing season (May - Aug).
