Their best growth is in light, organic, well-drained soil with a pH of about 6.5. Beans have a distinct dislike for cold, wet soils, so seed only after the soil has warmed to at least 16 C. Sow 2.5cm deep and 8cm apart in rows spaced 45 - 70cm apart. Keep beans evenly watered, particularly when the plants are in flower and when production of the pods starts. Avoid the use of high nitrogen fertilizer - nitrogen promotes excessive foliage. Pole, or climbing, beans need to be grown on trellises, open weave fencing, nylon bean netting strung between supports or on bamboo or pole teepees.","brand":"Ontario Seed Company","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":49705253634288,"sku":"16589","price":2.19,"currency_code":"CAD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0421\/3617\/4760\/products\/16589.jpg?v=1643491472","url":"https:\/\/floralacres.ca\/products\/bean-climbing-kentucky-wonder-wax-seeds-osc-50901","provider":"Floral Acres Greenhouse \u0026 Garden Centre","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
