Dear Customers,
We appreciate your engagement and feedback regarding our popular Toonie Tuesday sale! Your insights are invaluable to us as we strive to enhance our promotions and provide the best possible experience for our customers.
After careful consideration of your concerns and suggestions, we want to address the various challenges associated with the Toonie Tuesday sale to help you better undersatnd our position.
-
Historical Timing of Sale:
Traditionally, our Toonie Tuesday sale has been held during the peak season (May through August), when our stock levels are abundant, ensuring a wide selection of sale items for our customers.
-
Special Toonie Tuesday Event for Begonias:
Our annual Toonie Tuesday event featuring Begonias has been immensely popular, sometimes leading to unsafe vehicle and traffic congestion. To manage this, we introduced a successful loyalty program, allowing early access to the sale for master gardener members, effectively reducing traffic and safety issues.
-
Expansion of Toonie Tuesday Sale Year-Round:
Recognizing the demand for the Toonie Tuesday promotion year-round, we extended the sale to the off-peak months (September through April). However, we face challenges during this period, including limited stock availability and selection of products, making it difficult to ensure a consistent and satisfying experience for all customers.
-
Challenges of Implementing Quantity Limits:
While we appreciate the suggestion to implement quantity limits, we have decided against this approach due to the complexities of managing such limits effectively and fairly. Our Toonie Tuesday sale is advertised as first-come-first-served sale with limited availability.
-
Limitations of Making Sale Available Online:
One of the main challenges we face in extending the Toonie Tuesday sale to our website is the unique nature of the products offered. These items are often not inventoried by their variety-specific characteristics making it challenging to ensure accurate representation and availability online.
Additionally, with one inventory location, there's a risk that an order placed online may not be fulfilled if the product is sold in-store before it can be picked. This challenge is especially pronounced during events like our Begonia sale, where there are many hundreds of orders, making it logistically impossible to offer online. Not to mention the disappointment for customers if their desired products are not available after they have paid!
Exploring Solutions for Off-Peak Times:
To address the challenges of limited quantities during off-peak times, we are exploring the possibility of releasing sale items in batches throughout the day. For example, we may consider releasing one tray per hour or scheduling releases in the morning and afternoon to ensure a fair opportunity for all customers to participate in the sale. Additionally, we will explore how we can expand our stock levels and selection during the off-peak season to better meet demand, including offering substitute items once the advertised special sells out.
We value your feedback and welcome further suggestions as we continue to improve. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Warm regards,
Floral Acres
I appreciate you responding to customer concerns. I live out of town and love to come to your sales, when it works out. The begonias last year were amazing and I was so happy to grab lots to enjoy all summer. The rotation of products on sale would be fun.
You will never please everyone and what you have been doing works for you, so keep up the great work!
It’s a special unique sale so I also think it should be kept the way it is. I understand not everyone including myself can get to it in a timely manner every Tuesdays but that’s the whole point of being Toonie Tuesdays excitement. Any changes would just result in changes in nature of complaints.

I appreciate Your explanation in dealing with this issue. That being said, I feel You are doing an amazing job at trying to please Your Customers. As far as I am concerned, keep things the way they are … You are already doing more than most by having a weekly sale year round! 👏
Thank you for addressing this, regardless of the outcome. It makes me feel like you’ve heard about the concerns your customers are voicing and are considering possible solutions. This would be why I will continue to buy from your business. Thank you. (A rotational release sounds like an awesome idea!)
I think your answer was respectful and honest. Any attempt to fix things for the complainers will result in different complaints. Just keep things way they are – you can’t make everyone happy all the time
