Care

General Maintenance: These plants will tolerate being repotted once every spring, but try to only repot if the plant has become root bound. Can be propagated by division while repotting. This plant does not require regular pruning to maintain its shape, but try to remove any dead or dying leaves to promote new growth. Watch for spider mites and aphids on these plants.

Temperature: Ideal temperature is 18ºC - 24ºC. Keep above 16°C to prevent dormancy.

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. On hot, humid summer days it will enjoy spending a good part of the day in the shade.

Watering: Best to water a little bit at a time, but frequently. Keep the soil consistently moist (but not soggy) rather than letting it dry out. Water much less in the winter. These plants enjoy high humidity, so if it is fairly dry in your home consider using a pebble tray or a humidifier.

Soil: Use a fast draining, peat-based potting mix.

Fertilizer: During the spring, feed with a diluted, balanced fertilizer every two weeks.
