General Maintenance: Ginger will take 8-14 months to reach maturity, but the roots can be carefully harvested at any time. Do not take too much at a time, and water after harvest.
Temperature: 22°C to 25°C.
Light: To grow best, and to maintain variegation, a spot where they get 2-5 hours of direct sunlight would be best. They can tolerate indirect light, though they won't thrive.
Watering: Ginger requires a lot of water to grow actively. Do not let the soil dry out, but do not waterlog the soil either. Watering when the top 1-2in of soil is dry is best.
Fertilizer: Use a low nitrogen fertilizer such as 10-20-20. Too much nitrogen will encourage foliage growth but slow the yield of crop.
