Care

General Maintenance: They aren't the easiest houseplant to manage, but they will flourish indoors with the right routine.

Temperature: 18 - 22 degrees Celsius

Light: While this plant would be very happy in a south facing room, ensure it does not get direct sunlight, as its leaves will burn. If your plant gets slightly yellow, you know the sun was a bit too much. Remember to rotate this plant, as its stems will always grow towards the sun!

Watering: The Alocasia Calidora is a plant that loves a humid environment, and the best way to give it that, is to mist it once or twice in the morning. It is better to underwater this plant slightly, as it does not like to sit in wet soil. Water it only until water comes out the drainage hole. Small quantities are best.

Soil: You will definitely want a very well draining soil for the Alocasia Calidora, so that the rots are not sitting in soggy soil, developing root rot.

Fertilizer: From spring to autumn, it grows really quickly, so giving it fertilizer every 2 weeks is much appreciated by this tropical beauty.
