Care

General Maintenance: The Philodendron Goeldii hates to be moved, so try to only repot it approximately every 2 years, remembering that it likes to be root bound. Pruning is not necessary, but if you have to trim, do so lightly, only cutting out yellow or infected leaves.

Temperature: It will do well in temperatures 15 degrees to 30 degrees Celsius, but does prefer it on the cooler end of that spectrum. If it begins to drop leaves, then that is too cool.

Light: It will love to be exposed to plenty of indirect sunlight, which can vary from medium to low light. Ensure it is not receiving direct sunlight, as it will dry it out too quickly.

Watering: Watering should be done once or twice a week, depending on how quickly the soil dries out. Allow it to have time to dry & absorb, to prevent overwatering that could lead to root rot. It will require a lot less water in the winter.

Soil: These plants prefer to have its soil moist, as well as adequately drained. The soil should contain organic matter, such as sphagnum peat moss.

Fertilizer: This plant would love a little manure, but will also do just fine with a bit of medium, well balanced fertilizer, in the spring and summer. Do not fertilize in winter.
