Kimberly Fern is also commonly called sword fern, because of its straight and narrow upright leaves. These ferns are far less tempermental that most other fern varieties, making it an easy care option to add a bright pop of colour to your home! They can also be taken outside during the summer months to display at your front entry or enjoy on the patio.
Height: 24in - 40in
Spread: 24in - 40in
Pet Safe: Toxic to pets if ingested.
CareGeneral Maintenance: Repot when your plant becomes rootbound, to a pot 2-3 inches larger. Do not allow ferns to dry out entirely, or they will start to drop leaves. Propagate by division.
Temperature: Thrives in normal household temperatures, between 15º-26º Celsius. Keep away from drafts and drastic temperature changes. Ferns love high humidity, so they will greatly appreciate a pebble tray, humidifier, or being misted.
Light: Bright indirect light is ideal. Kimberly ferns are more tolerant of direct sun than other varieties, but too much may scorch the leaves.
Watering: Keep soil evenly moist, but not soaked. Water when the top 1-2 inches of the soil are dry to the touch. Ensure your pot has adequate drainage to avoid the roots sitting in excess water.
Soil: A soil rich in organic matter is ideal, but any well-draining potting mix will do.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer, diluted to half the recommended strength, once every 3 weeks during the growing season.
