A nearly thornless gooseberry. Tear-shaped fruit becomes red and sweet as it ripens. This variety is self-pollinated, but fruit set is improved with a pollinizer cultivar. Developed at the Central Experiment Farm in Ottawa from a cross of American and European gooseberry.
