The Monstera Swiss Cheese (Monstera Adansonii) is best know for its large, highly fenestrated leaves. This plant is a stunning addition to almost any room, and it requires little care. It is a fast grower, and will produce even larger leaves if given something to climb. The Laniata variety has the fenestration closer to the middle of each leaf, and is more highly fenestrated than the traditional Adansonii.

General Maintenance: Monsteras like to be slightly rootbound, so they will not need to be repotted very often. They can grow freely or be trained to climb up a trellis or moss pole for a more clean/compact look. They are very easy to propagate by rooting cuttings with nodes in water until the roots are 2-3 inches long, and then planting into soil.
Temperature: Thrives in normal household temperatures, between 17ºC-26ºC. Keep away from drafts and drastic temperature changes.
Light: Plenty of bright indirect light is ideal.
Watering: Water once the top 2-3 inches of soil is dry. Monsteras hate to be overwatered, so ensure your pot has proper drainage to avoid the roots sitting in excess water.
Soil: A well-draining potting mix is essential. Adding perlite or orchid mix to your soil is a great way to improve drainage.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer once every 3-4 weeks during the spring and summer months.
