Rossa Lunga di Firenze Onion. Heirloom vegetable. Variety originated in Italy. Very mild, sweet tasting red onion. Elongated bulbs range from 7.5-10cm (3-4in) in length with a red skin covering crisp, juicy sweet flesh. Superb for fresh eating, salads, roasting or pickling.

How to Grow

Start seeds indoors in a sterile medium 10 weeks before plant out time or direct seed in a sunny site with well worked fertile soil in early spring as soon as soil becomes workable. Use thinnings as spring greens. Onions grow best in rich organic soil. Keep soil evenly moist. Planting Depth: 12.5mm (1/2in). Seed Spacing: 12.5mm (1/2in). Thin to: 10cm (4in). Row Width: 25cm (10in).
