Temperature: During the growing season it likes warm tempuratures. While in it's winter resting period it enjoys cooler temperatures, and can even tolerate as low as -3.9 to 10°C

Light: This plant requires full sun to partial sun. If you are growing indoors choose a bright sunny window with as much sun as possible. From spring to fall they love the outdoors.

Watering: From spring to fall, water thoroughly when the soil becomes dry. In winter, water sparingly about once a month. Plants in containers require more frequent watering than those in the ground. Don't be tempted to overwater, as they are prone to root. rot

Fertilizer: Only give a small amount of fertilizer in the spring during the first two years. Established plants do well on their own.

Soil: They tolerate most soils so long as they have good drainage, but they have a preferance for a rocky/sandy soil blend.
