This incredibly attractive, award-winning Agave Victoriae-Reginae Queen Victoria is a beautiful succulent forming a perfectly spherical, solitary rosette of thick, smooth and spineless, dark green leaves. Each leaf is adorned with almost 'hand-painted' white margins and a small terminal spine. While infrequent, mature plants (over 10 years) flower only once, bearing dense clusters of creamy-white flowers. Very slow-growing, this distinctive agave is terrific for sunny borders or containers.

Care

General Maintenance: Repot when the plant has become rootbound. Yearly, change out some of the soil to ensure the plant has fresh nutrients. Propogation of the "pups" can be done during repotting.

Temperature: Room temperatures that average 18-24ºC.

Light: A bright, sunny location is best to help this plant thrive, but it will also tolerate some light shade.

Watering: Water thoroughly when dry. Water more sparingly in the winter. Don't overwater, as this plant is prone to root rot.

Fertilizer: Give a small amount of fertilizer in the spring during the first two years. Established plants do well on their own.

Soil: They tolerate most soils as long as they have good drainage, but they have a preferance for a rocky/sandy soil blend.
