Care

General Maintenance: Don't repot unless this plant has become overly root bound. They prefer to be in pots that are quite "snug".

Temperature: Room temperatures that average 18-24ºC and no lower than 12ºC. Avoid drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Light: This plant prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun as this will scorch their delicate leaves.

Watering: Water once the upper layer of soil is dry. You can test this by putting your finger into the soil up to your middle knuckle - if it feels dry, water! In the winter, water even less. This plant is prone to root rot. This plant also loves extra humidity. Provide this by misting or using a pebble tray or humidifier.

Soil: Alocasias prefer a well draining soil. This can be achieved by creating a chunky mix via adding perlite and orchid bark to a standard, well draining potting soil.

Fertilizer:Use a balanced fertilizer once a month during the growing season (May to Aug). Don't fertilize during the winter.
