The Juniper is one of the most popular species of trees for bonsai, and for good reason. It has fine, soft needles and a very even temperment. Blue berries appear when the bonsai is very happy.

Care
General Maintenance: Repot roughly once a year. If rootbound, repot into a pot one size bigger. If not, change the top few inches of soil to replenish nutrients. Rotate pot every 1-2 weeks to encourage even growth on all sides.Temperature: Thrives in normal household temperatures, between 15ºC-26ºC. Keep away from drafts and drastic temperature changes.
Light: Place in a location that receives at least 4 hours of bright indirect light. Too much direct sun may scorch the foliage.
Watering: Juniper bonsai plants do not tolerate sitting in overly wet soil, so you should allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Be careful not to leave it dry for prolonged periods of time either or the foliage will suffer. It is best to give your plant smaller amounts of water frequently to avoid over or under watering.
Soil: A rich, well-draining medium is ideal for this bonsai.
Fertilizer: Feed with half-strength liquid fertilizer once a month during the spring and fall seasons. Do not feed the juniper tree in the summer months or during the winter. Do not fertilize the tree immediately after it has been re-potted.
