AttributesType: Houseplant / Perennial
Height: Up to 3ft
Spread: Up to 9in
Light: Bright Indirect
Zone: 7 - 9
Pet Safe: Toxic. Extremely toxic to cats.
CareGeneral Maintenance: If you find the plant is growing very tall and leaning, using a stake for support will be beneficial. Remove any yellow anthers from the center of the flowers to prolong their flowering. Remove flowers once they have withered, and cut the entire stem down to the soil once the plant is done flowering and the plant has yellowed. You can also transplant your potted lily outdoors. After the last frost, cut back the plant to approx. 6in high and plant in a partially sunny location. Keep the roots shaded.
Temperature: Prefers to stay between 16°C-21°C during the day, and 13°C-16°C at night. Keep away from drafts and drastic temperature changes.
Light: Prefers bright indirect light and likes some morning sun. Too much direct sunlight will scorch the foliage.
Watering: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Don't keep it too wet, but don't let it completely dry out. Remove the foil regularly to check for sitting water around the bottom of the pot (which will cause root rot). Household humidity is fine.
Soil: An organic, well-draining soil is ideal.
Fertilizer: If the lily is blooming, it does not require fertilizing. If the lily is starting to emerge during the spring, give a balanced fertilizer. Using a slow release fertilizier once or twice during the growing season is ideal.
