The Episcia Cupreata, otherwise known as the Flame Violet, is loved for its showy leaves, that combine shades of green and coppery brown, often with a bit of light green or silver veins. The leaves appear to have a metallic sheen that shimmer in the light, and make this plant irresistible.

Care

General Maintenance: You can expect bright flowers to appear in spring and continue through fall.

Temperature: It prefers temperatures of 13 to 18 degrees Celsius, and no higher then 24 degrees Celsius.

Light: Flame Violets that don't bloom are not getting enough light. Place near a bright window, but out of direct sunlight. Like it's African Violet cousins, it does well under artificial light.

Watering: Water regularly to keep soil evenly moist, spring through fall. Keep slightly drier during winter, when growth is slower.

Soil: A peat moss based mix with added perlite for faster drainage is good, but African Violet potting mix is ideal.

Fertilizer: Feed every 2 weeks in the spring through fall, with African Violet fertilizer. Do not feed in winter.
