Ficus umbellata, often called the Umbrella Tree Fig, is a striking houseplant known for its large, glossy, heart-shaped leaves on slender stems, offering a more whimsical alternative to the popular Ficus lyrata. Foliage: Features distinctive, large, glossy emerald-green leaves that are heart-shaped and slightly wavy. Size: As an indoor plant, it typically grows to about 4 feet tall and wide, though it can reach up to 12 feet in its native habitat. Growth Habit: It grows with a tall, slender stem and has a more relaxed branching pattern than other Ficus species. Aesthetics: It is a popular "collector plant" that is especially common in Japanese interior design. Toxicity: Like other Ficus plants, it is mildly toxic to humans and pets if ingested, due to the irritating sap (latex) it secretes. Light: Requires bright, indirect or filtered light. It can handle a few hours of direct morning sun but avoid harsh, direct afternoon light, which can burn the leaves. Water: Allow the top 25–30% of the soil to dry out between waterings. It is sensitive to overwatering and prefers a thorough drenching over small sips of water. Ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent root rot. Humidity: Generally happy with average household humidity levels but appreciates occasional misting. Soil: A well-draining, airy potting mix is essential. A blend of regular indoor potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark is a great choice. Stability: Ficus plants prefer not to be moved often and may drop some leaves when adapting to a new location. Rotate the pot regularly to ensure even growth.

Anthurium 'Dorayaki' is a popular houseplant hybrid celebrated for its unique, nearly round, velvet-textured leaves and striking silver veins. The plant is a cross between Anthurium crystallinum and Anthurium clarinervium, and its name is inspired by the Japanese pancake dessert due to the shape and texture of its foliage. Foliage: Known for its distinctive, round, heart-shaped leaves that grow in a compact, self-heading form. The leaves are a deep emerald green with a soft, velvety texture, accented by prominent, shimmering silver or white veins. Size: It has a compact growth habit, making it suitable for tabletops and smaller indoor spaces. Hybrid Origin: Developed in Indonesia, this hybrid combines the best visual traits of its parent species to create a visually distinct and manageable plant. Toxicity: Like many Anthuriums, it is not pet-safe and is considered moderately toxic if ingested. Light: Requires bright, indirect or filtered light. Direct sunlight can burn the delicate leaves, while too little light can slow growth. Water: Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry to the touch. It is important to avoid overwatering and ensure the pot has proper drainage to prevent root rot. Humidity: Thrives in high humidity levels, ideally between 60-80%. Misting the leaves regularly or using a humidifier can help maintain adequate moisture. Soil: Use an airy, well-draining potting mix, such as a blend of orchid bark, perlite, and peat moss or coco coir. Temperature: Prefers consistent, warm temperatures between 16–27°C (60–80°F). Protect the plant from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes
