The Marimo Moss Ball is an adorable ball of moss that lives in water. Excellent for aquariums or aquatic terrariums as they are easy to care for, and stunning to look at. They are actually a rare form of spherical algea clumped together. In an aquarium these moss balls will absorb toxic nitrates and act like miniature filters in your water. Beware though as fish may find them to be a very yummy snack.

Type: Tropical, Houseplant, Succulent
Height: 1in - 8in (They naturally can reach 12in in diameter though it is unlikely indoors)
Spread: 1in - 8in
Light: Low - Medium
Zone: 10
Pet Safe: Non-Toxic

General Maintenance: They may begin to flatten out if left alone. For best round shape, gently agitate the water and roll the moss ball around. This will also even out the lighting so one area does not get too much light

Temperature: 22 - 25 degrees Celcius. These temperatures should be carefully maintained as they are not very tolerant to intense heat or cold

Light: Marimo Moss Balls are adapted to low-light situations. They will not handle direct sunlight, and will burn and turn brown. Keep away from windows as glass will focus the light and make it more intense, as well as increase the water tempurature

Watering: The water should be changed once every 2 weeks using regular tap water. For best result allow the tap water to sit out for 24 hours to evaporate any chlorine. During the summer there will be more evaporation of water, so water may need to be changed more frequently
