This plant has long, stunning, beautiful leaves that grow on small stems. It is highly sought after because of its foliage. The vines on this highly variegated monster grow to one inch or more in diameter. It has long leaves with multiple shades of green. Very thin stems give it a life-like crawling habit. Indoors, Paraiso Verde is easy to grow. They are suited to the average room as long as you provide firm support for the stems. The climbing Philodendrons produce aerial roots from the stems.

Care

General Maintenance: Ensure your pot has adequate drainage to avoid root rot. Repot every 1-2 years as needed. Trim away any dead leaves, as necessary. Easily propagated from cuttings with nodes, or by division.

Temperature: Thrives in normal household temperatures, between 15º-26º Celsius. Keep away from drafts and drastic temperature changes.

Light: Can tolerate lower light conditions, but will grow fastest in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it may scorch the leaves.

Watering:Water this plant with clean water at least once a week, depending on the weather of your region. You might need to water it less frequently during winter. The Philodendron paraiso verde plant is quite sensitive when it comes to its watering requirements. Both underwatering and overwatering are not well-tolerated.

Soil: Choose a well-draining, loose soil for your plant. Read below to learn some of the important properties that must be present in the Philodendron paraiso verde soil.

– High in Organic Content
The Philodendron plant needs soil that is very nutritious and high in organic content. For this purpose, you can add peat moss to it. Peat moss will also retain moisture without contributing to waterlogging.

– Loose and Permeable
The soil should be permeable enough to drain the water out of it quickly. You can use bark, charcoal, or coco coir to the soil to loosen the particles of the soil.

– Acidic
Acidic soil is the most suitable for Philodendron paraiso verde. It also helps to prevent infections and allows the plant to absorb the nutrients from it efficiently.

Fertilizer: Philodendrons are not heavy feeders, but will benefit from a balanced houseplant fertilizer every 3 weeks or so, during the spring and summer.
