Care

General Maintenance: It is small in size and reaches maturity in 3-5 years, this plant can easily be propagated to fill out the pot and tends to be a slow grower. This plant trails and vines and will spill beautifully over the edge of its pot and looks beautiful when positioned high up on shelves or in hanging baskets.

Temperature: The string of turtles prefers cooler, more humid conditions than that of other succulent plants, keeping them around room temperature is the best temperature range for them.

Light: These plants will thrive in bright, indirect sunlight. Direct sunlight will burn their leaves and cause a loss in pattern as they will get yellowed and limp.

Watering: These plants tend to suffer from overwatering, make sure to allow the top 1-2 inches of soil to dry out at minimum before watering. Their delicate stems are prone to rotting.

Soil: While considered a succulent, using a soil specially formulated for cacti and succulents will not make these plants happy. They need a soil that is organically rich to thrive. They love slightly acidic soil and adding peat to the mix will help them thrive.

Fertilizer: Fertilizing these plants will help maintain their glossy, beautiful leaves. Fertilize once every 2-3 weeks with a diluted houseplant fertilizer during the growing season (April - August).
