Type: Tropical
Height: 24in - 60in
Spread: 12in - 30in
Zone: 9-10
Pet Safe: Mildly toxic if ingested.

Care

General Maintenance: Replace the top layer with fresh soil once a year.  Will only need to be repotted once every few years.  Can be propagated by removing the new pups and placing them into damp potting mix.

Temperature: Thrives in normal household temperatures, between 15º-26º Celsius.  Should not be exposed to temperatures below 7º.  Keep away from drafts and drastic temperature changes.

Light: Yuccas prefer a spot with bright to medium light.  Can tolerate lower light conditions, but will grow at a much slower rate.

Watering: Yuccas are drought tolerant and do not like to sit in overly wet soil.  Water thoroughly, and then allow the soil to dry almost completely before watering again.  Ensure you use a pot with proper drainage to avoid root rot.

Soil: Yuccas thrive in dry, sandy soil. Well-draining soil is extremely important for this plant.

Fertilizer: Fertilize with a balanced liquid fertilizer once every 6-8 weeks in the spring and summer.
